For Red Nose Day fun this March 2021 we came together as an organisation for Comic Relief. This year everyone was forced to think outside the box because of the pandemic. Whilst we may not have been able to take part in the usual way, at Active Prospects, we were determined to not let this dampen our efforts and support for the cause – so we put on our thinking hats.
We came together virtually, both staff and people we support. The Friday afternoon was a fun filled zoom session, during which, everyone had a laugh and wind-down into the weekend. Activities included multiple jokes which evoked a laugh (and a groan), alongside a Name that Teddy competition where the name of ‘Rupert’ was chosen to be the winner.
The Active Prospects Executive Management Team held a Bake-Off competition. This required a certain level of creativeness when judging, due to not being able to taste the cakes! Their own family members were roped into tasting and describing – in some cases very honestly. The decision was made by Pro-Active Community Chairperson, Lizzie Wheeler, with Joel Hartfield being crowned the ultimate winner. It was a very close competition! This was made harder by the fact that all we could do was look at the cakes on screen.
All of our efforts did the trick in putting smiles on our faces and feeling the team spirit. As well as having a great time filled with Red Nose Day fun we managed to raise £160 to support Comic Relief.
