Volunteers fly through garden makeovers

garden Makeover

Active Prospects was delighted to welcome 28 volunteers from Virgin Atlantic Airways to three of its services on 15th June for a corporate volunteering project organised through Crawley Community and Voluntary Service (CCVS), for garden makeovers.

The group of staff were split into three teams and undertook garden projects at Millview in Charlwood and London Road in Redhill, plus garden work and decorating at Colesmead House in Redhill. The weather was glorious, if a little hot, for weeding, digging, pruning and planting, and the people we support at each service were excited to see the transformation and engage with the volunteering teams.

Hannah Scotland, from Virgin Atlantic, said: “We all had such a fantastic day helping Active Prospects in the gardens of their Charlwood and Redhill properties; everyone was so kind and welcoming. We felt a real sense of achievement at the end of the day, seeing how the gardens had transformed through our work together as a team. We really hope these will be enjoyed by all the residents; thank you for having us!”.
