Meet our Senior Team

Maria Mills – Chief Executive

Joined as the CEO in October 2015. She has an extensive background in the social care and health sectors and has worked in senior positions for a number of national charities and social enterprises, as well more local organisations. She brings with her a deep commitment to enabling people we support to shape their organisations, developing partnerships to provide integrated approaches to meeting needs and looks to create a deeper impact for our people and communities.

Jade Vallance – Director of Care

Joined Active Prospects in 2013 as the Service Manager for Domiciliary Care and in October 2015 became Head of Care, then Director of Care in 2017. Over 20 years’ experience in direct management in care and support and specialises in challenging needs and autism. Jade has worked for a number of charities and large national organisations providing support to people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.  Qualified in 2004 as a registered care manager undertaking RMA and Level 4 Diploma In Care and in 2009 qualified as a conflict manager and resolution teacher.

Allison Barter – Director of Finance and Resources

Allison Barter joined Active Prospects in 2019 as a qualified accountant and has senior level Finance and Management experience in the not for profit, academic and commercial sectors. Her experience includes extensive work with Scope within the Financial Management and Development of their community based, residential and education services. Allison is committed to ensuring that finance and management support services contribute to the efficient and effective running of the organisation, in line with key objectives and the vision and mission.

Lynsey Way – Clinical Lead

Lynsey joined in December 2018 as Active Prospects’ Clinical Lead. Lynsey is an Applied Psychologist with a MSC in Applied Psychology of Learning Disabilities and additional post graduate training in Positive Behaviour Support and Autism. Lynsey has 20 years experience of working with individuals with complex needs and developing clinical governance and strategy in social care. Lynsey is also the co-chair of Surrey PBS Network and won an award for leadership in PBS from BILD in 2017.
