Vickie’s appeal
Vickie’s life could have turned out very differently. As a baby, she experienced a serious illness that left her with lifelong brain damage. Today, she faces big challenges with speech and sight and needs round-the-clock care.
Thanks to her Active Prospects home, Vickie has the support she needs to live a happy and fulfilling life. She enjoys shopping, swimming, and spending time with her family—who can visit whenever they like, knowing she’s safe, cared for, and thriving. As her mum Lorraine says, “It’s life-changing.”
Too many people autistic people and people with learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries are stuck in hospital settings—sometimes for years—because there aren’t enough local homes with the right support.
At Active Prospects, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a full and meaningful life in their own home, close to the people and places they love.
With your help, we support over 300 people across Surrey and Sussex each year—providing safe homes, personalised care, and the chance to build independence.
Our services are rated ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, and we’re proud to be a charity led by the people we support. Their voices shape everything we do.
But we can’t do it without you.
Whether it’s adapting a home, funding specialist staff training, or creating sensory spaces for people with complex needs—your donation makes a real difference.
Donate today and help create a world where everyone has the chance to live the life they choose.
What will my donation do?
£10 could fund a travel sensory pack to ease stress in new environments.
£50 could fund a wellbeing coach for an hour to help someone find their spark.
£100 could fund a trip somewhere someone has dreamed of going like Harry Potter World.
Whether you are making a one-off or monthly donation, thank you. You have helped people with a learning or physical disability, autistic people, or people with mental health needs to lead a more aspiring life.
