Last week, Whitney – one of the incredible people we support proudly took to the stage as a finalist in the Miss Generation 2025 beauty pageant, a national competition that celebrates women of all ages and backgrounds. With dreams of pursuing a career in modelling, this moment marked a truly special milestone in Whitney’s journey. We couldn’t be prouder!
Whitney’s passion is fashion, and sharing words of empowerment! She’s never let labels or life circumstances define her, despite the challenges of her upbringing and mental health struggles. With strength, resilience, and ambition, she’s proving that confidence and lifting others up truly matters and that everyone deserves the chance to chase their dreams.
In preparation for Miss Generation, Whitney and her Support Worker, Ann, threw themselves into the experience, learning choreography, meeting new people, and going dress shopping. These are all things Whitney takes great pride in and believes have empowered her to become the person she is today. With the right support and the opportunity to follow dreams, they do come true.
“Active Prospects don’t know what they’ve done for me,” Whitney shared. “This company has shown me so much love and support. I am so grateful.”
What This Means to Whitney
Whitney’s journey to the final is remarkable. Growing up, she faced extremely difficult situations, from neglect and abuse in her childhood, to bullying and psychological harm. These experiences left lasting impacts on her health and wellbeing, but through it all, Whitney never gave up, and she is confident to talk about these struggles with the hopes of inspiring other women, and getting her story heard.
One moment that stood out for Whitney at the Miss Generation Final, was the standing ovation she received after her heartfelt response to “What difference does this make to you and why did you enter.” Whitney’s response showed her true determination, and resilience to sharing love and kind words through her experience and personal believes. “I had a bad upbringing and I wanted to prove I am somebody, Miss generation has given me the chance to do that”

Whitney’s Next Dream
Having aspirations is important for us all and Whitney’s desire to become the best version of herself is nothing short of inspiring. One of her biggest dreams is to publish a book, sharing the struggles she’s faced and the hope, drive, and determination that helped her overcome them.
Since becoming a person we support, Whitney’s optimism has grown greatly. She always has her sights set on her next goal and we can’t wait to see what she achieves next.
