At Active Prospects, our purpose is clear: to enable the people we support to lead full and aspiring lives. This vision guides everything we do, and we’re proud to announce the rollout of a new and innovative internal training programme designed to enhance this commitment through the Active Wellbeing Outcomes approach.
Our Wellbeing Outcomes Tool is a clinically evidenced framework that helps the people we support to evaluate their satisfaction across eight key domains of wellbeing. These include areas like health, relationships, skills, and belonging—key aspects that underpin a fulfilling life. The tool provides a personalised and structured way to identify what’s working well, what could improve, and, most importantly, what meaningful goals can help people thrive.
The new internal training equips our team with the skills, resources, and confidence to embed this approach into daily practice. By focusing on co-production, staff and the people we support collaborate to create tailored plans that encourage independence, celebrate achievements, and improve overall wellbeing. It’s not just about setting goals; it’s about creating opportunities for people to dream big, take positive risks, and shape their lives in ways that matter most to them.
Why this matters:
Life is a journey of highs and lows, and everyone deserves the chance to live a life of purpose and opportunity. For the people we support, this means having access to the same opportunities as everyone else – whether that’s finding meaningful work, building relationships, or discovering their unique spark. By using the Wellbeing Outcomes Tool, we can ensure that every person has the support they need to build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy meaningful experiences.
This work is particularly important for the people we support with learning disabilities, autistic people, and those with mental or physical health needs, who may face additional barriers to achieving their aspirations. Our approach breaks down those barriers by focusing on what each person values most and providing the tools and encouragement to achieve their goals.
Looking ahead
We’re excited about the potential of this training to transform lives. By embedding these principles into our day-to-day support, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change – not just for the people we support but for their families, communities, and the staff who make it all possible. Over the coming months, we’ll continue to monitor outcomes, celebrate successes, and share stories of achievement and growth.
Lynsey Way, our Clinical Director, says
“At Active Prospects, we believe that everyone has the right to live a life filled with joy, connection, and purpose. This new training is another step toward fulfilling our mission and ensuring that every person we support feels able to live their own aspiring life.
By focusing on individual wellbeing, and co-producing goals that truly matter to each person, we’re not just delivering support – we’re enabling transformation. This approach ensures that everyone has the opportunity to thrive, grow, and achieve their aspirations.”
