Overview

Colesmead is a supported living service providing 4 flats and 2 studio flats.

What support is available

Support is provided on a 1:1 basis to enable people with a learning disability, autism and mental health needs to live as independently as possible. Support staff are trained in Active Support, Positive Behaviour Support and mental health awareness. The staff operate on an outreach model to enable each person to have the right level of support for them. In addition tenants at Colesmead have housing support to enable them to understand their tenancy, benefits and maintain their flats.

The service has a small communal area for social opportunities and a shared garden.

Local area

Redhill is a busy town with lots to do, including a large college and several support groups and therapeutic projects for tenants to engage with. It has a pedestrianised high street, with a wide range of shops including the Belfry Shopping Centre; Warwick Quadrant; a street market each Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and occasional French market. Supermarkets in the town include a large Sainsbury, and Marks and Spencer Food Hall; and there is a choice of GP surgeries and dentists. Redhill is near to Reigate and has easy access to Crawley, Gatwick, Croydon, London and Brighton. It is at the junction of the A23 and A25 roads, and the M25 and M23 motorways are within three miles. Redhill has its own railway station and numerous bus services are operated to the town including route 100 to Crawley which is part of the Fastway bus rapid transport system. London Gatwick Airport is only 6 miles from Redhill, and there is also the local Redhill Aerodrome.
