G.O.L.D. Week at Active Prospects

In July, colleagues across Active Prospects came together to celebrate G.O.L.D. Week (Growing Older with Learning Disabilities), a week dedicated to exploring how we can continue to provide outstanding support as people with learning disabilities grow older.

Supporting people to age well means recognising that everyone’s needs, aspirations and preferences change over time. It also means making sure our colleagues have the knowledge and confidence to provide personalised, proactive support throughout every stage of life.

Throughout the week, colleagues took part in a range of learning sessions covering topics including dementia, oral health, nutrition, falls prevention, pressure care and sensory experiences. Alongside the training, we came together and enjoyed activities that celebrated connection, reminiscence and staying active.

G.O.L.D. Week is an opportunity to share knowledge, learn from one another and reflect on how we can continue to provide high-quality, person-centred support that helps people lead independent and aspiring lives.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised sessions, shared their expertise and took part throughout the week.
