Celebrating Our Community: STAR Awards 2025

In July, Active Prospects came together for a truly special evening: our annual STAR Awards. This evening is dedicated to celebrating the outstanding contributions of our staff and the remarkable achievements of the people we support.

Every year we pause to recognise the dedication, compassion and commitment shown by colleagues, volunteers and the people we support across all our services. But this year felt particularly memorable. We received a record-breaking nearly 400 nominations — each one a story of someone going above and beyond to help others lead aspiring lives, or a celebration of the incredible progress and achievements reached by people we support.

The energy in the room reflected everything we strive for as an organisation. It showed the strength of our community and the difference we can make when we support one another.

Our CEO captured the spirit of the evening perfectly, saying:

“We had tears, we had joy, we had fantastic songs with deep meaning! Social care is a challenging sector to work in, mostly as it’s underfunded and undervalued. But equally it is the best job ever, and great social care enables people to transform their lives – what an incredibly powerful and important thing to do!”

We were also honoured to be joined by special guests who have supported us throughout the year. Their presence added so much to the evening and helped make the celebration even more meaningful.

To all our nominees and winners – congratulations. Your commitment, creativity and compassion shine through everything you do. The STAR Awards offer only a snapshot of the difference being made every day across our homes, services and communities, but each story shared reminds us why our work matters.
