Active Prospects focuses on Mental Health Awareness

Mental Health Awareness Week

Active Prospects is proud to support 26 adults in four supported living houses through its Active Wellbeing (Mental Health) services. To mark Mental Health Awareness Week 8-15 May 2017 (#MHAW17), a number of activities for staff and the people we support have been organised.

Starting with Mindful Monday, staff were encouraged to set an intention to start their week off on a positive note using mindfulness practice as a way of doing this. On Tuesday, a wellbeing walk for people we support will be lead by our Mental Health Coordinator, David. On Wednesday, staff will have the chance to take part in our Wednesday Wellbeing Walk at lunchtime, and on Friday there will be some treats in store at head office on Feel Good Friday, and a ‘Tea and Talk’ get-together for people we support, facilitated by our Active Wellbeing Manager, Niamh.

Throughout the week we will be aiming to promote the link between exercise and mental health, and the importance of strong social connection for good mental health.
