Active Prospects CEO Maria Mills has been elected as Chair of the Surrey Care Association

Active Prospects CEO Maria Mills has been elected as Chair of the Surrey Care Association, which represents over 130 social care organisations in Surrey.

This is a voluntary position which Maria will carry out alongside her duties as CEO of Active Prospects. Maria said: “The SCA is one of the most influential care associations around and its membership has grown in recent years. I’m looking forward to working with our new CEO Nicola McLeish to present a united voice on behalf of our members. These are extremely challenging times for the sector and I sincerely believe that providers can be part of the solution if we are treated as an equal partner by statutory organisations. Every day our committed, talented staff make a huge difference to the lives of people they support, and we need to ensure this essential work is recognised, valued and celebrated both inside and outside of the sector.”

Active Prospects has been an active member of the Surrey Care Association since its inception. Maria has been a Board member since 2019 and served as Vice-Chair since 2020.
