Active Prospects’ Big Feedback: Empowering Aspiring Lives

At Active Prospects, our commitment to transparency, communication, and continuous improvement is at the core of our mission. We firmly believe that the voices of people we support should guide our path. This commitment led us to organise our very first Big Feedback session—an event that brought us together to share our thoughts, updates, and feedback on various aspects of our organisation.

Jade Valance, our Director of Care, said “We were thrilled to launch the start of our Big Feedback events.  They’re a fantastic opportunity for us to work with and truly listen to people we support. Collaboration is a fundamental aspect of our approach, and these sessions are our way of ensuring that everyone can lead the most fulfilling and aspiring lives possible.

One of our core beliefs is that individuals we support should have the freedom to make choices that matter to them and have full control over their lives. Whether it’s a dream like driving a car for the first time or going on a mountain bike holiday, we’re here to support them in finding their voice and pursuing their passions.”

The session started with our CEO, Maria Mills, outlining our strategic approach and posing the question: “What more should we be doing?” The room buzzed with ideas and suggestions. Our housing and maintenance team played a crucial role, offering valuable insights into how they can best support the maintenance of homes. Angella Chimenya, our Head of Quality, shared a deep dive into survey responses from 2022/23. She highlighted what people had to say and how Active Prospects had responded, providing a meaningful reflection on our journey so far.

As the session started to close, Jade Vallance led an engaging and interactive workshop. Together, we explored life goals, travel plans, hobbies, and interests, ensuring that everyone felt fully supported in turning their dreams into reality.

We are continually on the lookout for innovative ways to collaborate and help individuals lead fulfilling lives, and the Big Feedback sessions are our commitment to inclusivity and shared ideas. We look forward to future meetings, where our collective efforts will continue to drive positive change and empower aspiring lives.

The Big Feedback event adds to our collaborative efforts with people we support. Working together extends to include several key initiatives, such as our collaboration with the Pro-Active Community – a user-led charity that brings together experts with first-hand experience to actively shape our approaches and services. Additionally, we leverage feedback surveys, engage in ongoing collaborative projects, and participate in Joint Governance events to ensure our collective input shapes the future of our programmes and services.
