Active Prospects awarded gift of 7 iPads for residents to connect

Thanks to a scheme through NHSX we have been awarded 7 free iPads for our residential services to use.   NHSX is a joint unit of teams from Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and NHS Improvement and is in place to drive the digital transformation of care.

We are pleased with being awarded 7 of the iPads as this means there can be one for each of our residential services.

These iPads will make a huge difference to the people we support.  They will enable them to stay connected with their family and friends, which is extremely difficult during the pandemic with lockdowns and restrictions.  Simple things like keeping up to date with news, joining online activities, entertainment and apps will be able to be enjoyed by those who have not previously had access due to financial or other restraints.

Barbara Kearse, Manager at our service in Banstead commented, “The idea was to help the people we support during lockdown, so they can go on YouTube, do baking activities, use the apps and keep in touch.  It’s great news and we are looking forward to sharing with them, all very excited!”
