We have been awarded £315,312 from The National Lottery Community Fund to expand our Active Wellbeing Coaching programme over the next two years, helping more neurodivergent people access vital support.
The funding, awarded through the Reaching Communities programme, will enable 160 people to receive personalised wellbeing coaching, alongside community and group activities reaching up to 200 additional people each year.
Active Wellbeing Coaching helps to reduce the mental health inequality gap for neurodivergent people. Through our co-designed programme, people who may previously have been left without vital help are supported to move forward, build confidence, connect and rediscover their ‘spark’.
The programme combines personalised 1-to-1 coaching, social prescribing and peer-led opportunities. Having support from people who understand and can relate to their experiences is an important part of this approach.
One Wellbeing Coaching member said:
“It’s nice to talk to someone who can relate to me and what I have experienced. It helps me believe that what we are doing will actually help.”
Lynsey Way, Clinical Lead at Active Prospects, said:
“Watching people in our programme take control of their health, meet their goals, and gain confidence has been amazing.”
Over the next two years, this National Lottery investment will allow our Active Wellbeing Coaching programme to build on this impact – improving emotional wellbeing, reducing loneliness and isolation, and helping more people develop confidence and independence.
It will also help demonstrate the wider value of preventative support, reducing the need for crisis and emergency services and creating benefits for families, carers and the wider health and care system.
Thanks to National Lottery players, more people will be able to access the right support, at the right time.
