Abbey and Gertrude celebrate Royal Garden Party recognition

Two long‑standing members Active Prospects, Abbey Gorringe and Gertrude Clarke, were recently invited to attend a Royal Garden Party, recognising their many years of dedication to social care. Now both Managers at Active Prospects, they have grown and developed their careers with us over many years.

Abbey and Gertrude have spent decades supporting people to lead aspiring lives, offering care, stability and encouragement, and making a lasting difference through their everyday work. The invitation was an exciting chance to step away from the day‑to‑day and reflect on the impact of that commitment.

Held in the gardens of the palace, the occasion brought together people from across the country who have given long service to their communities. As well as spending time in the gardens and enjoying afternoon tea and cake, Abbey and Gertrude had the chance to mingle and share their stories, making it a memorable and celebratory day.

Abbey described the experience as unforgettable, saying:
“I had such a lovely time – it really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a fantastic opportunity through Active Prospects. I’m so grateful to have been part of it.”

Gertrude also spoke warmly about the day, sharing that she had “a fantastic time at the palace and enjoyed every second of the experience.”

We’re also very grateful to the National Care Forum, which offered places to its members and made this opportunity possible. Their continued support and recognition of the social care workforce mean a great deal and helped make this special experience available to Abbey and Gertrude.

While moments like this are rare, they really matter to our staff. They recognise the dedication, care and consistency that sit at the heart of social care, vital everyday work that changes lives every day.

We’re incredibly proud of Abbey and Gertrude, and grateful for everything they continue to give to people we support and their teams across the South East.
