Active Prospects visits the House of Commons

On 2nd April we were honoured to be invited to the House of Commons to a photography exhibition, hosted by the Department of Health and Social Care. The exhibition was part of a national campaign to celebrate those working in the care sector to showcase the diversity of roles.

Displayed in the Churchill Room was a host of different portraits showing the varied world of care, ranging from the elderly and young to our very own portraits of Greg and David in the garden and Umu and Sheila enjoying an arts and crafts session. The photos beautifully capture the unique and genuine relationships we create at Active Prospects.

Everyone at the reception was welcomed by the Minister of Care, Caroline Dinenage, who said “These portraits capture the compassion and dedication of some of our brilliant care workers. Care work can be physically and emotionally challenging but if you have the right values it can also be hugely rewarding – 96% say their work makes a difference to people’s lives. I think these photos really represent that.”

The photography, whilst showcased at the exhibition, is particularly poignant as it celebrates the life of David, who sadly passed away on Sunday 31st March. He was an extraordinary gentleman who will be missed by all and the portrait exhibition has been a fantastic tribute to him.
