The Surrey Care Awards, with over 400 care employees in attendance, recognises the achievements of adult social care staff was held on Friday 9 November at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
Judges praised Active Prospects and said: “Active Prospects is a really impressive service which appears to have made significant changes in the last three years. It has exceptionally good staff satisfaction results, as independently benchmarked with over 70 other social care organisations. It has also pioneered micro-enterprises to enable work opportunities for people with learning disabilities and runs a charity shop helping 12 people into supported volunteering/employment.”
Chair of the Pro-Active Committee, Pat Lynch, accepted the certificate and award on-stage, reflecting that people supported by the charity that shaping its development and future.
CEO, Maria Mills said: “Active Prospects is really moving forward together on a journey from good to outstanding, and everyone in the organisation contributes to making this happen each and every day. We do transformative work with adults with learning disabilities which makes a huge difference, enabling them to lead more independent, active and fulfilling lives. We are absolutely thrilled to have this award, and our success, recognised through such a significant award.”
Erica Lockhart, Chief Executive of Surrey Care Association said: “Our Awards ceremony recognises the really excellent care delivered by individuals and teams in Surrey and, as a county, we should be very proud of their achievements. Surrey’s adult social care sector employs over 30,000 people and our Awards also highlight the wide range of rewarding employment and career development opportunities that exist within our local care sector.”
