Four people supported by our Community Prospects service and living in Caterham have recently packed up their belongings for a long-awaited move to their new home in Kenley.
Three of the individuals only came to Active Prospects last year, and joined Pauline who was already living at the supported housing property in Caterham. The large house they have been living in was previously a care home but more recently has been providing them with supported housing. Although in a great location, the house was not ideal and required some modernisation, so having secured the support of Surrey County Councils’s Adult Social Care team and NHS England, Active Prospects took the decision to sell the property and to re-invest in a smaller, more suitable bungalow where they can continue to live as a family unit, and where their needs will be accommodated as they grow older.
Their new home in Kenley is a fantastic property with a large garden and workshop, plus a summer house that will be ideal for sensory activities. Active Prospects is currently also converting the existing dining room into a bedroom, and adapting the bathrooms so they are fully accessible.
All four new residents are absolutely thrilled with their new home.
